Frequently asked questions

Nineteen questions we actually get asked, answered without marketing language. Every answer starts with the answer. If yours is not here, ask us and we will add it.

Buying

No — never, at any spend level or account age. We do not ask for an identity document, a selfie, a phone number, a billing address, a date of birth or a real name, and there is no verification queue to pass. Ordering requires a working email address, because that is where your server credentials are sent; creating an account adds a password and nothing else. We can do this because we accept cryptocurrency only, so we carry none of the card-fraud risk that forces most hosts into identity checks.

It means six of our twenty regions sit in jurisdictions chosen for their legal environment rather than only for latency: Iceland, Switzerland, Panama, Romania, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. In those countries there is no blanket data-retention mandate obliging us to log and keep records about you, a United States DMCA notice carries no direct legal force, and obtaining customer information requires a court in that country. Offshore regions cost exactly the same as our standard ones — a Reykjavík instance is the same price as a Dallas one.

Automated delivery takes about 4 minutes on average, and 98.6% of orders are online in under 10 minutes. Once your OxaPay payment reaches 1 network confirmation, our provisioning API builds the instance, assigns the IPv4, installs the operating system and emails you the IP, username and password. No manual review, no ID verification, no phone call.

Technically none — an RDPForge Windows RDP is a full VPS that ships with Windows Server and Remote Desktop already configured. The word RDP describes how you connect (Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol on port 3389), while VPS describes what you own (a virtual machine with dedicated resources). You get administrator rights either way, so you can install software, open ports, reboot and reinstall at will.

Yes. Every Windows plan ships with the built-in Administrator account and every Linux plan with root. You can install any software, add users, change the RDP port, run Docker, edit the registry and reinstall the OS from the control panel whenever you want. We never install agents or monitoring software inside your instance.

Yes. CPU, RAM and bandwidth upgrades apply after a single reboot and take about 60 seconds. Disk can be grown online with no reboot on Linux and with one reboot on Windows. Upgrades are prorated to the day, so you only pay the difference for the time remaining on your term. Downgrades are applied at your next renewal.

We do not offer a free trial because instant delivery with crypto payments makes trials trivially abusable. Instead we run a 72-hour money-back guarantee on every first order: if the server does not perform as advertised, open a ticket within 72 hours and we refund in full, no questions asked. Our refund rate has been between 1.4% and 1.6% every year since 2020.

Technical

AMD EPYC 7003/9004 and Intel Xeon Gold Scalable nodes with DDR4/DDR5 ECC memory and enterprise NVMe in RAID-10, virtualised with KVM. Nodes are provisioned to a maximum 3:1 vCPU ratio on shared plans and 1:1 on Titan and Ultra plans. Typical single-thread Geekbench 6 scores land between 1,650 and 1,980 depending on the location.

Two simultaneous administrative sessions work out of the box on every Windows plan, which is the Windows Server default. For more concurrent users you enable the Remote Desktop Session Host role and add RDS CALs, or use our tested multi-session template — we suggest roughly 2 GB of RAM and half a vCPU per active desktop user, so an RDP Pro (6 vCPU / 16 GB) comfortably handles 8 users.

Layer 3 and layer 4 DDoS filtering is included free on every plan in every location, with mitigation capacity up to 1.5 Tbps at the edge. Attacks are detected and scrubbed automatically within about 10 seconds. Application-layer (layer 7) filtering with custom rules is an optional $6/month add-on.

Yes, reinstall as many times as you like from the client area — it takes 3 to 6 minutes and there is no fee. You can switch between Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025, Windows 10/11 Pro, Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, Fedora, or boot your own ISO. Switching from Linux to Windows adds the Windows licence fee to your next invoice, prorated.

Custom ISOs up to 8 GB are supported on all Linux and Windows plans through the VNC console. Nested virtualisation (running Hyper-V, VMware or KVM inside your instance) is enabled on Pro, Elite, Ultra, Power and Titan plans; on the smaller shared plans it is disabled to protect node stability.

Billing

We accept cryptocurrency only, processed by OxaPay: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT (TRC-20, ERC-20, BEP-20), USDC, Litecoin, TRON, BNB, Solana, Monero, Dogecoin and about 40 other assets. Crypto keeps chargeback fraud at zero, which is exactly why our prices sit 20-40% below card-accepting hosts. Invoices are quoted in USD and locked at the rate shown for 30 minutes.

No setup fee and no contract on any plan. You prepay for the term you choose — 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, with quarterly the shortest we sell — and it simply ends unless you renew. Longer terms carry an automatic discount of 5% to 30% off the standard monthly rate, and the 24-month term locks your price for the life of the service even if list prices rise.

Your server is suspended 24 hours after the due date but the data is kept intact for 7 more days, so paying the overdue invoice restores everything instantly. On day 8 the instance is destroyed and the IP returns to the pool. We send renewal reminders 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before expiry, plus one on the due date.

Policy

Only if your server is in a jurisdiction where the DMCA applies. It is a United States statute, so on a server in Reykjavík, Zürich, Panama City, Bucharest or Sofia it carries no direct legal force: we log the notice and forward it to you, but we do not take content down on that basis alone. In our US regions it is actionable, and we say so on those location cards. If a complaint is brought properly under the law of the host country, we follow the law of the host country.

Spam, phishing, malware distribution and command-and-control, credential stuffing, DDoS origination, child sexual abuse material, and any traffic that gets our IP ranges blacklisted are strictly prohibited and terminated without refund. Port 25 is closed by default and opened on request after a short review. Everything else that is legal in the server's jurisdiction is fine, including VPNs, scraping within a site's terms, trading bots and game servers.

No. We do not inspect, log or retain traffic contents, and we have no agent inside your instance. We keep only what is required to run the platform: billing records, support tickets, hypervisor-level resource metrics, and authentication logs for the client area. Netflow headers are sampled for 72 hours purely for DDoS mitigation, then discarded.

Support

Support runs 24/7/365 through tickets in the client area, with a median first reply of 12 minutes and a 4-hour SLA on the Managed add-on. There is no live chat and no phone line — both would mean a queue and a script, and a ticket reaches the engineer who can actually fix the thing. Plans are self-managed by default, meaning we guarantee the hardware, network and hypervisor; anything inside your operating system is yours, though our knowledge base covers the common tasks and we will always point you in the right direction.

Still have a question?

Pre-sales tickets are answered by the same engineers who run the platform, 24/7, with a median first reply of 12 minutes.
