# Choose backups and snapshots for your VPS

Plan recoverable copies independently of the running instance and review the option cost.

## Choose the purchase option deliberately

Automated backups are optional: reference price 20% of the server monthly rate with a $2 minimum, adjusted by the selected prepaid term. The snapshot pack has a separate listed charge. Review the order total and retention included.

## Know what needs to be consistent

Application data, databases and files can require different backup procedures. Confirm the capture and restore arrangements for the selected option. A stored snapshot is not proof that the application can be restored successfully.

## Keep an independent copy

The published terms keep responsibility for important data with you. Store an independent copy, protect access to it and test recovery. Coordinate a restore with support if it would overwrite active data.
